MissionOS privacy policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
The short version
MissionOS has no accounts and no server, and we never see your plan. Everything you put into MissionOS is stored on your iPhone, and the app’s thinking (suggestions, drafts and Capture summaries) happens on your iPhone too. If your iPhone is signed in to iCloud, MissionOS also copies your plan to your own private iCloud, where only you can read it. We do not collect, sell or share information about you.
Who we are
MissionOS is made by VACUUM STATE LTD, registered in England and Wales under company number 17461652, with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ.
What we collect
Nothing. MissionOS contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and no third-party software that collects data. It does not send your plan, notes, photos, recordings or health information to us or to anyone else.
What stays on your iPhone
Your Mission, Priorities, Projects, Actions, Targets, routines, weekly reviews, notes, the photos and documents you attach and your Captures are stored on your iPhone. Your Apple Watch, your widgets and the Share to MissionOS extension use a small part of it, passed directly between your own devices.
Like other apps, MissionOS’s data is also included in your iPhone’s own backup (iCloud Backup or a backup to your computer) if you use one. That backup is made and kept by Apple or by your computer, not by us.
iCloud Backup in MissionOS
MissionOS saves your plan on your iPhone after every change. If your iPhone is signed in to iCloud, MissionOS also copies your plan to the private iCloud database of that iCloud account when you leave the app, if the plan has changed. It is stored by Apple in your own iCloud, counts towards your iCloud storage, and Vacuum State cannot read it. There is nothing to sign in to in MissionOS. You can turn automatic backup off in Settings › iCloud Backup, or turn off iCloud for MissionOS in your iPhone’s Settings.
Photos, documents and Captures are copied to iCloud only if you turn on “Back up attachments”, and only the kinds you tick: photos, documents, Capture recordings, and Capture transcripts and summaries. Each file is uploaded once, and one you delete in MissionOS is removed from iCloud too. Apple Health readings and your location are never included.
On a new iPhone signed in to the same iCloud account, MissionOS offers the plan from iCloud; it never replaces a plan without asking. To delete everything MissionOS has stored in your iCloud, open Settings on your iPhone, then your name, iCloud, Manage Storage (or Storage), MissionOS.
Microphone, speech and Capture
MissionOS uses the microphone only when you record a Capture or speak to mOS. Capture recordings are transcribed and summarised on your iPhone, using Apple’s on-device speech recognition and, where your iPhone supports it, Apple Intelligence. Recordings, transcripts and summaries are kept on your iPhone until you delete them.
When you speak to mOS, MissionOS uses on-device speech recognition where your iPhone supports it. Where it does not, Apple’s speech recognition service processes the audio under Apple’s privacy policy; it is not sent to us.
Captures you record on your Apple Watch are sent to your iPhone, and the watch keeps no copy once a recording has been sent. A Capture leaves your iPhone only if you share a report made from it, or export your plan with Captures included. The audio itself goes into an export only if you also turn on “Include the recordings themselves”.
mOS and Apple Intelligence
Suggestions, drafts from notes and photos, text recognition and Capture summaries run on your iPhone, using Apple Intelligence where it is available. Nothing you write, photograph or record is sent to us or to any other AI service.
Apple Health
If you connect Apple Health, MissionOS reads only the measures you choose. It uses them to estimate your energy, to tick routines and complete Actions you have linked to them, and to fill in Metrics such as weight. MissionOS never writes to Health, and Health data stays on your iPhone. It is never used for advertising and never shared. You can change what MissionOS may read at any time in the Health app.
Camera, photos and files
MissionOS uses the camera only when you choose to scan a page, and opens your photos or files only when you pick one, for example to attach a photo or a document to an Action, or to draft a Project from it. What you attach is stored on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud only if you turn on “Back up attachments”.
Location
MissionOS uses your location only when you ask it to, and never follows it.
If you tap “Use current location” on an Action, iOS gives MissionOS your position once and Apple turns it into a place name for that Action; the coordinates are not kept.
For Actions that need daylight, you can let MissionOS read your position once to work out sunrise and sunset on your iPhone. It keeps only a position rounded to about 11 km, on your iPhone; it is not sent to us or to any weather service, and it is not included in iCloud Backup or exports. You can update or clear it in Settings › Daylight. MissionOS does not check the weather.
Reminders
Reminders are notifications planned on your iPhone from your own plan. Nothing is sent to us to schedule them.
Subscriptions
MissionOS Plus is bought through your Apple Account. Payment is handled entirely by Apple, and we never see your payment details; the app only learns whether Plus is active. Apple’s handling of that information is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
Your data is yours
You can export your whole plan to a file at any time in Settings, under Export & Import, and delete anything inside the app. Deleting MissionOS deletes everything it stored on your iPhone; its copy in your iCloud stays there until you delete it as described above. Because we hold none of your plan, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side.
If you email us, we keep your message and our reply only for as long as we need them to help you.
Children
MissionOS collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this changes, we will update this page and the date above before the change reaches the app.
