About MissionOS

MissionOS is a planning app for iPhone and Apple Watch made by Vacuum State. Set a Mission and the Priorities behind it, turn them into Projects and Actions, keep routines going, record meetings with Capture, and look back each week to see what moved.

Get in touch

For help with MissionOS, email hello@vacuumstate.co.uk with “MissionOS” in the subject. The quickest way is Send feedback in the app’s Settings, which fills in your app and iOS versions for you. Tell us what you were doing and what happened, and we will reply as soon as we can.

Getting started

The first time you open MissionOS, “Build your Mission plan” on Today walks you through it, or lets mOS suggest a plan for you to edit. You can come back to it at any time in Settings, under Getting started.

User guide

The MissionOS user guide explains every part of the app, with pictures: Today, your Mission and Projects, Actions, Focus, Routines, Capture, mOS, your weekly review, Apple Health, Apple Watch, iCloud Backup and MissionOS Plus. You can also download it as a PDF.

MissionOS Plus, the free trial and refunds

MissionOS is free with up to three active or planned Projects. MissionOS Plus removes the Project limit and adds full meeting summaries and reports from Capture, Capture from Apple Watch and from other apps, voice on Apple Watch, live complications and the morning brief. It is available monthly or yearly, and new subscribers can start with a two-week free trial.

Plus is sold and charged by Apple. To change or cancel it, open your Apple Account subscriptions, or Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancel at least 24 hours before a trial or billing period ends to avoid the next charge. If you reinstall MissionOS or use a new iPhone, choose Restore purchases in Settings › Plan & Subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple: sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, find the purchase and request a refund.

If Plus ends, nothing you made is deleted. If you have more than three active or planned Projects, MissionOS asks which three to keep going and pauses the rest until you resume them.

Capture

Capture records a meeting or a thought and turns it into a transcript, a summary, and suggested Actions, decisions and questions for you to review. Transcription needs iOS 26 or later. Summaries need an iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on; without it you still get the transcript. Everything is worked out on your iPhone.

Recording carries on when your iPhone is locked. If a long summary is still being worked on when iOS pauses the app, MissionOS finishes it the next time you open the app and tells you when it is ready.

Apple Watch

The watch app shows your next Actions, today’s routines and your Mission Score, and lets you complete Actions, tick off routines and log time worked. It needs MissionOS on your iPhone. If something you did on the watch has not reached your iPhone yet, the watch says so and sends it when the two are in reach of each other.

Apple Health

To let routines tick themselves and Targets follow your measures, connect Apple Health in Settings › Health & Activity. MissionOS only reads from Health. To change what it can read, open the Health app, then your profile, then Apps, then MissionOS.

Your data and a new iPhone

MissionOS saves your plan on your iPhone after every change. If your iPhone is signed in to iCloud, it also backs your plan up to your own iCloud when you leave the app; see Settings › iCloud Backup, where you can also choose to back up photos, documents and Captures. On a new iPhone signed in to the same iCloud account, MissionOS offers to use the plan from iCloud: tap Use this plan, then close and reopen the app.

You can also export your whole plan to a file in Settings › Export & Import and import it on another iPhone. Deleting MissionOS deletes everything it stored on your iPhone.
